Supported files and practical limits
Compress50KB accepts common browser-readable image formats, including JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF. The downloaded result is a JPEG, a format that is widely accepted and well suited to producing a small file.
Compression always involves a trade-off. Detailed images may look softer at 50KB, especially when the original is large. To reach the target, the tool can reduce image quality and dimensions. JPEG does not preserve transparent backgrounds or GIF animation, so use another workflow when either feature is essential.
Processing speed depends on your device, browser, and source image. A current version of a mainstream browser will provide the most reliable experience.
